BUTZTOWN ROAD REALIGNMENT PROJECT
Project was awarded to Grace Industries at $1,165,145.  The Township has been awarded $725,000 from the PA DCED Multi-Modal Transportation Grant Program  for this project.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
* Realign the existing intersection splitting into a “T” and a “Y”
* Replace existing antiquated stormwater pips with new pipes
* Add a left turning lane on Route 191
* Guiderails around triangle property to prevent driving through
* Mill and overlay of Butztown Road from Rt 191 to the Bethlehem Township line.
Grace Industries will commence work on September 8th, During construction, Butztown Road will be closed between Hecktown Road to the south and Route 191 (Nazareth Pike) to the north for approximately two-three months. A detour will be implemented utilizing Hecktown Road and Route 191 (Nazareth Pike).
Construction was originally estimated to last three months. Now with the anticipated break for winter weather (estimated Nov-Mar), the project will wrap up late Spring / early Summer.
